The one in my pond resents having to fly off.
20 years ago my kids learned to swim in that lake at Spring Harbor Beach - it was a delightful place to spend summer afternoons - and you did not leave green. 10 years ago we bought into the Hill Farm Pool because the Lake was becoming unswimmable.
It has not getting any better
Lately, around here, the sky has been excessively blue. It doesn't look quite right. It doesn't seem to be a proper background. It makes more sense in the water.
Great blue herons are amazing birds. They take off so slowly, and they move in such a stately manner on the surface. They have a really grating, ugly sound as well...I kayak a lot on the Little Miami River near Cincinnati. on weekdays, with limited river traffic, one can see 20 or 30 herons in a day.
